I like that Magnet Axiom provides the ability to process computers, phones and cloud data in one software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The data carving options for computers don't seem as advanced as other software products I have used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When you finally get the device imaged, the analytics are pretty good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UIs generally are poorly designed, almost as though they were afterthoughts. And the terminology is quirky.
For example, clicking multiple items in a list doesn't SELECT them... it QUEUES them. When you try to CLEAR SELECTIONS, they don't CLEAR, because despite what it looks like, they weren't SELECTED... they were QUEUED. (De-queuing, say, all 66,000 of them is an incredibly complex process.)
Chat support engineers must have the world's worst UI, and they have my sympathy. The product-specific robot asks for my problem, I enter it, the support engineer asks for it again, then asks what product. Seriously?
First-line support never has an answer. Period. They always have to check. Don't they have a knowledge base like everyone else?
I'm trying to image an android phone. Zero success. Second level tech support asks me why I want to do it instead of telling me the hidden secret. SERIOUSLY??? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Artifacts segregation in Magnet makes it easy to create reports Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The GUI Interface to parse GENERAL information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Not great for a technical artifact deep dive.
- Hash Set Manager Never Works Correctly
- A-Lacart Pricing is becoming unaffordable for the public sector, prompting us to explore more cost-effective forensic software tools.
- They Charge for their EXHIBIT Tool Reporting, which is nothing more than a WIKI construction that works with their tools.
- Portable Case/Report Generation does not work well on large-volume (2+TB) datasets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Magnet Forensics Axiom does a great job of parsing and processing artifacts from Mobile Devices. It works seamlessly with GrayKey extractions. Portable cases make it easier to share information with Investigators and District Attorneys. Axiom is an excellent tool to process data from numerous sources from Social Media to Computers, but modular enough to let you just pay for what you specifically need for your investigations. The only downside that I have seen with Magnet Forensics is the uninformed who have only heard of Cellebrite and think that it is somehow inferior. I have not seen any downside in the actual use of the software. Like any specialized tool with addons, the whole software kit can be expensive, but with Axiom, you only pay for what you need. If I'm doing a cell phone, and need to do more than one, or I forgot my codemeter, Magnet will acquire the forensic
image I need.

The only negative I can think of is I like Registry Viewer in Access Data's FTK better.

Magnet AXIOM is by far the best parsing tool that I have used in my career. The ability to focus down on the evidence to the smallest details is fantastic. While it may not be as user friendly as other tools to a new investigator, once you understand the software and it's abilities, you'll never want to use something else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve getting started is the biggest negative when it comes to Magnet. AXIOM can be a little intimidating to a new investigator, but after you become familiar with it, it is by far one of the best parsing tools on the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Magnet Forensics suite is the most intuitive forensic tools I've used to date. From Magnet Axiom to Magnet Outrider, I can always count on my tools to work when and where I need them to.
The parsing/processing time for artifacts in Magnet Axiom is unmatched. I can count on my data being clear, articulate, understandable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There isn't much I dislike about Magnet Forensics. If I were forced to choose a "gripe" it would be the very rare instances of software crashes. However, I'm quite convinced the isssue is largely based on hardware rather than the Magnet Forensics suite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
